The Sustainability Toolkit for Ireland’s Creative, Arts and Media Sectors. has been collaboratively developed by the Cultural & Creative Industries Skillnet with Native Events. Our aim is to provide accessible resources and guidance to empower artists, cultural organisations, and creative communities to integrate sustainable practices across their processes, practices and projects.
We disclose that while we strive for accuracy and inclusivity in our content, our toolkit may evolve over time as new information emerges and diverse perspectives are considered. Additionally, we are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our website by reducing data usage and implementing energy-efficient design practices – however due to the nature of the content and collection of resources from multiple sources, carbon efficiency may not be possible in every aspect of the site.
This pioneering resource site has been made possible by funding provided under Skillnet Ireland‘s Reshaping Business for Sustainable Growth | Future Dynamics programme that will contribute significantly to promoting sustainable Practices in the Arts & Cultural Sectors. The Life Worth Living Report, published by the Irish Government in 2020, emphasised the importance of offering practical guidance and resources to minimise the carbon footprint and overall environmental effects in the Creative and Events sectors. Among the report’s recommendations was the implementation of online tools and resources to assist the sector in adopting more sustainable practice.
We welcome feedback and engagement from all users and visitors to continuously improve the toolkit’s effectiveness and relevance in fostering a more sustainable future for the arts in Ireland.
